A wonderfully intimate look into the life and work of India Hicks and her extraordinary family. In Season One we’re talking Movie Stars, Matadors and Maharajas as we have tea and cake with Lady Pamela, daughter of Lord and Lady Mountbatten and of course India’s much moved mum. Now in her 90s Lady Pamela’s stories will astound you; she’s first cousins with Prince Philip, travelled the world on the famous Commonwealth tour when Princess Elizabeth became Queen, befriended everyone from Grace Kelly to Gandhi and had a front row seat as her father, the last Viceroy of India, oversaw the complicated process of partition.

Eventhough I have no special interest in the Royals, I absolutely loved listening to the India Hicks Podcast that she recorded with her mother, Lady Pamela, and in which the Lady tells the stories of her life. Not only is this highly entertaining and fascinating but it also opens the door to a life full of adventures.
So often we think that we have to fit in and conform ourselves to social norms and to what other think of us, but listening to this Podcast made me want to go out, explore and disover and embrace all the adventures that might come along the way.

The teachings of Mindfulness encourage us to step out of our autopilot behaviours and habits to be curious again about everything that is happening to us and around us. Small changes to our routines can help to see our lives with fresh eyes and help us make consciece choices about what habits and activities that nourish us and others that we might want to let go.
What little adventures can you integrate into your life to step out of your daily chores?
